CONCERT
HIGHLIGHTS
"The Embrace the World tour has successfully started.
The musicians started to arrive from around the world
to L.A. on April 11 to 12. Arrangements were made to
house them in friends houses in our area (with a significant
number staying at KC Porter's home, while he himself
was stranded in Costa Rica due to weather conditions).
They started to practice 12 hours a day for three days
before they conducted the first concert in Irvine.
What happened during practice is a good reflection of
what this tour is about. Each one of these artists have
their own CDs, band, and style of music. We first thought
that each will perform separately with some interaction.
What they decided to do was to do almost everything
together, each helping the other to enhance and enrich
their music...
The first concert at UC Irvine was a great success.
I was not there, but I was told the event was sold out
and 700 people attended. Since we have the luxury of
having a number of Bahá'í musicians in
L.A., their concert was opened by a couple of other
musicians such as the Justice League...
Everyone was overjoyed with the quality of the music
and the unity and humility shown at the stage...
From Seattle on, the tour will have someone that will
professionally videotape segments of the performances."

CONCERT
HIGHLIGHTS
"It was a first-class event in everything -- from
the most basic details to the 'Mistress of Ceremonies'
to the musicians and their music to the food and food
service to the 'fireside panel'. I know there was a
lot of work behind the scenes as well with a lot of
people helping out, including Kayvan videotaping the
concert. Wow, everyone loved it! Will the artists do
this every year? This year the musicians did more music
together as opposed to primarily showcasing individuals
and that lent such an air of unity to everything. Thanks
so much for your hard work!"

CONCERT
HIGHLIGHTS
"We had a magical time at Sunday night's concert
in North Vancouver, B.C. It exceeded everyone's expectations.
The spirit of humility and love that the artists exuded
created an amazing atmosphere filled with joy and hope...
There was also a great diversity of people there...
There were a good number of Chinese present who were
fans of Lin Cheng! There were also a number of Mexicans,
Arabs, English-Canadians, Italian-Canadians, Chinese-Canadians,
Polish, Japanese and numerous other nationalities and
cultures represented in the audience. Vancouver was
recently confirmed as the most culturally diverse city
in Canada, and this was evidenced in our audience." |

THE STARS OF THE EAST & WEST COME TOGETHER
FARZAD & LEONOR DELY JOIN FORCES IN U.S. TOUR
WITH TOP WORLD MUSICIANS
Albuquerque, June 11, 2002 – After all the success of Ricky Martin,Carlos
Santana, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and many others, multi-Grammy®
winning producer KC Porter is now taking time to work with some
new artists that inspire him musically as well as spiritually. Leonor
Dely and Farzad are just the artists that caught Porter's attention
and he's bringing them to Albuquerque's Rodey Theater on the UNM
campus for one performance only on July 6th. "Leonor Dely is
kind of like the Colombian 'Buena Vista Social Club', but with tons
of ethnic, African roots and spiritual vibrancy", says Porter,
"and acclaimed Persian violinist, Farzad, is the Middle Eastern
'Kenny G' of sorts, but with a Persian/Western combination that
works wonderfully. To bring these two artists together, with a highly
percussive, funk-based band, is a concept that I've never seen before."
Dely's music delves deeply into the African roots of Colombian and
Caribbean rhythms and her latest release, "Amame – Palabras
Ocultas de Bahá'u'llah", highlights 19 of the strongest Latin
rhythms, porro, currulao, danzón, Andean cueca, guajira, pasillo,
huapango, Afrocuban batás, Haitian yanvalou, bolero, pilón and so
many more. Porter adds, "her CD 'Amame' is like an encyclopedia
of latin roots rhythms, full of musical information".
Farzad's music truly speaks for itself. An article said, "The
Persian way is the way of mystic passion, the depth of the heart
in search of God. Farzad dives deeply into that heart and soars
with eagles and sings with nightingales. His is indeed the music
of the heart." Farzad has performed with numerous orchestras
and has held the position the position of concertmaster with the
National Symphony of Ecuador. Farzad regularly performs solo concerts
in Europe, Canada, South America, and the United States.
But the idea of teaming Leonor Dely & Millero Congo, Farzad,
JB Eckl & Heliotrope, KC Porter, and the youngest rising star
Naseem is not just to showcase these talented artists, but to help
promote and benefit Oneness, a non profit organization that is promoting
racial unity through music and the arts. Porter comments, "I just
felt it was time to start promoting the art that I identify with
and strongly believe in, although I'm not a promoter". Porter is
working jointly with Nury Khozein, noted promoter and manager for
Farzad and Naseem, among others. Dely will premiere
new material from "Talisman", her new CD produced by JB
Eckl and KC Porter due out sometime this fall as well as material
from the acclaimed CD, "Amame". Farzad, in his new CD
"Mirror of Emotions" has attempted to convey the commonality
of human emotions through a range of musical genres by using Western
classical, Eastern folkloric, Smooth Jazz, Pop, and Latin.
The US tour will begin June 21 and covers San Diego, Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Albuquerque and Minneapolis. For information on the
